1: Prologue: One Year Ago....

There are certain things in life that have to happen because they decide who we will be. When those things come, they will either make us or break us.
To Kara Schmitt, it seems like a breaking kind of thing.
To have her beloved mother be murdered, then have to go to an orphanage, is probably the worst thing ever to happen. For a whole year of befriending her Rhett and Link fanatic friend and playing with Raven, Kara, by the length of a year, knew that she would never be adopted.
Or at least, that's what she thought.
And it was the hardest thing to believe who her new parents were.
