At school, college and everywhere else. She thought that by moving away from her home in England that she could leave her troubled past behind and start something new. How wrong she was, especially after Nick Fury came to speak with her about the Avengers. And then she meets him, the person that could finally make her troubled life go back on the right path. And maybe even save her from herself.
