Amelia Brooke Ann Watson was abducted at the age of three by Harlow. Harlow is a drug addict and an alcoholic. Harlow's old boyfriend, Aspen, is extremely abusive. When Amelia is five, Harlow has Mary Ann. During Harlow's pregnancy she doesn't give up her addictions. When Mary Ann is born, she is born with several problems. Mary Ann is often bullied.

Amelia finds out one day that she was taken. At 16, Amelia takes Mary Ann and runs away to find her family. Aspen and Harlow chase after them. With the help of Amelia's friends and a guy named Greyson, they find Amelia's family.

It's the story of how terrible child protective services really is. It's the story of how life turned out for Mary Ann and Amelia after 20 years.
