Once, I was happy,
So happy and optimistic that people hated me for it.
Once, I was sensible and I was smart,
So sensible and smart that I went crazy.
Once, I had the ability to think rationally,
But my mind went into overdrive and that was the beginning of the end.
Once, I made a mistake,
It was a colossal, degrading, and shameful mistake. A mistake I could never be forgiven for.
Now, I’m running for my life,
Because the ones closest to us are the ones we can never trust.
