Roxanne (Roxie) is sixteen with a hard life. Her mom died shortly after Roxanne's birth. Her father, blaming it on Roxanne, is now an alcoholic and abuses her. Burdened with her private life at home, she goes to school with a whole different personality. She tries not to get mixed into the wrong shit. As long as no one crosses her, she's good. Anthony Nichols is the new kid. He's sexy, street smart, and a gang member. When Roxanne and Anthony meet, Roxanne immediantly dislikes his cocky attitude. But she can't help but feel a bit attracted to him. Both have their own personal problems and issues, but they may be what each other need to confront their obstacles upfront and finally move on.
