Chapter 1

Elizabeth, a twenty-five year old writer, isn't used to having her life go as planned. With an abusive alcoholic for a mother and father that ran out on them when she was just a little girl, she doesn't expect everything to work out in her favor. So she doesn't bat an eyelash when her mother overdoses, forcing her to stop pursing her Master's in journalism at Stanford University and return home to Maine.

And after three years of making sure her mother doesn't choke on her own vomit in her sleep, Elizabeth has gotten used to her lackluster life.

That is, of course, until she meets him on a night like no other--Robert Downey Jr.
