Prologue

Maya's crazy grandpa works up a scheme to get Maya married. He claims he's dying of a rare disease and states his dying wish is to see his granddaughter get married off. Only 17, Maya thinks her 'pa is going senile and ignores his claims. But when she gets a call from Dr. Matthews in the middle of the night, she accidentally blurts out an OK.

Falling into her pa's trap, Maya's forced to marry and her life becomes forever changed.
