Author's Note

Arika is an orphan with an extraordinary sense of smell and a talent for running and swordsmanship. The place she calls home is poor Kikori village in the province of Nihon-Ja. She never knew her parents and the only clue to her birthplace is a notebook from her mother, who died a few weeks after Arika was born. As an infant, Arika was left in a village in a basket with only a blanket, a note, and a traditional Senshi saber to survive.
