Chapter One: Substitute

14-year-old Gina has a great dislike of both people and Pokemon, all due to a harsh betrayal from the past. After a walk and a fateful encounter she ends up stuck with a Pokemon that she just can't let go of, and vice versa!
After this Gina sets out on a journey, meeting new friends and regaining what once was lost as her old dreams of being a Coordinator are revived. She and her new group encounter new experiences, new rivals, new Pokemon, and even faces of the past, and even as she wants to deny every last bit of it, Gina finds her heart opening itself up to forgive once and for all. To finally give life a chance.
