Chapter 1

The sound of urgent chatter escaped through the cracks of the meeting room, and I decided to see what went on behind the scenes and listen in.
"I knew they were desperate, but this soon? It seems so impossible..." My mother's voice trailed to a distant mumble as the yelling of the other elders continued
"We must do something!"
"Nothing CAN be done Elder Constantine! It's too late!"
Margot intently listened to their conversation continued. Her heart was beating out of her chest, and nervous sweat formed on her brow.
"Malvolia has declared war, and there is nothing we can do to stop it."
