Melody's coronation is to be held soon; the kingdom is in capable hands. Bird and her companions, meanwhile, journey to the sea as they finally set out for their home in the High North. But not all is right with the world. Terrible rumors of fire and magic begin to surface, and it isn't long before Bird realizes that she, and everyone she cares about, is in grave danger.
