Chapter One

Marianne Jarrett is an orphan, working on a farm to keep herself alive. However, when she's sent to Rouen to deliver some peaches to the new duchess, her life changes completely. Suddenly, she's lady in waiting to the most powerful woman in England, quite possibly all of Europe, within weeks of leaving her Normandy farm that she was raised on.
