"You will be sentenced to 35 whippings. 5 for each person you have killed." Darren's straight face faltered, he tried to hide his surprise but I caught it. Everyone was shocked including me. The first five take the skin off your back. The next five, make you wish they just put a bullet in your head. One guy three years ago got sentenced to 15. He was one of the strongest and fittest guard in town. He was the King's head guard. He lost consciousness at 13 and died before the beating was complete.
