Description
My mind shut off completely when I was younger. It was almost as if a light switch had been flickered on and off throughout that series of years. Sometimes it would flash on and blind me with a memory but the majority of the time it was dark. I had no recollection of the past, only nightmares for the future. People say that everything happens for a reason. I was never entirely sure of that. Until one day, everything changed for me. "My name is Sage Crawling. Tonight I will perform one act, and one act only. Tonight I will show the future of one person in this room. I have hand picked this person to be my little helper." At that moment he turned to me and smiled wide before returning his gaze to the crowd. One word was all that he said. It was ominous, like a death warrant had just been signed. "Abeyta."
