Chapter 1: Hope Runner

Sofia is an average girl with good grades, a good amount of friends, she is pretty and she doesn't attract too much negative attention to herself. If you didn't know any better you might be jealous. Her home life is far from normal though, her mom left her and her dad when she was 2. Her depressed father soon sent her to live with her Grandma who raised her. When her Grandma passes away Sofia moves in with her long lost mom across the country to an ocean side town.

At her new high school she decides to join the Bandon High School cross country team. Running is the only thing that sets her apart and makes her happy. She soon meets Nate, a light-hearted and happy boy, who seems to like her. Can he teach her how to love?
