What does a supporting character mean?

That character who just past by behind the main characters?

Those who just appears to be some kind of audience?

Those characters who didn't have a face on those manga books I read? Or Anime I watch?

Whatever it is, I think I am one of those supporting characters.

And this story revolves around the main characters, as usual.
