Kelechi Okereke is currently attending the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in pursuit of his MBA degree. He already has several years of experience working in Citigroup's Mergers and Acquisitions group within its investment banking division. He believes that his graduate degree will set him up for further opportunities in the finance and business management fields. Okereke molded his experience in the Nigerian Stock Exchange and as an associate within a mergers and acquisitions group with Citigroup.

Kelechi Okereke nearly went to medical school. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, he decided that his true interest lay in business, especially in the development of emerging economies such as the one in the country both of his parents are from: Nigeria. Okereke was intensely curious about how people lived in Nigeria, so instead of attending medical school after college, he moved to Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria, where he got a job in the Nigerian Stock Exchange. In the year he lived there, he learned much about business development and capital markets at the pinnacle. Okereke started gaining experience in business investments in large initial public offerings that he used later when he started his job with Citigroup.

Kelechi Okereke began his work with Citigroup after his year in Nigeria. He started as an analyst in the investment bank's Industrials group. He dealt with mergers and acquisitions and equity/ debt fundraising in the aerospace & defense and paper & packaging sectors. After two years as an analyst, Okereke moved onto Global Mergers and Acquisitions group. He worked with large international companies acquiring other large companies over international borders.
