"Sometimes Eli wished she was dead. But then she remembered that it was possible she might come back as one of them. By them, Eli meant the whiny, self-absorbed ghostly complainers who always thought she was obligated to help them. Sadly, as a member of the Morticians, Eli was required to. In some ways, she wanted to. In others not so much. Then Eli meets Emery, annoying pain in her ass, who helps her realize that maybe it was time for a ghost to help her for a change. But when ghosts start disappearing before they get their chance in the afterlife, Eli and Emery find they have to help each other before it's too late. A story about isolation but learning that life isn't perfect but maybe that was okay."
