Description
When Matt Andrews is forced to move to Cawker City, Kansas, from his hometown of the Big Apple, he is shocked. No, not shocked - horrified. Although he knows it's his fault they are moving, Matt just can't help but feel mad at his parents for the move. So he decides to somehow convince them to move back. Matt, who tries to be antisocial at his new school (which was dedicated to bat poop), is grudgingly befriended by two kids who just didn't know when to quit: talkative, bubbly Linnie and quiet, quick-witted Felix. Matt tries to stay alienated from his new 'friends,' but ends up needing them to help him fix a strange problem - creepy notes in his locker of whom the writer seems to have stalkerish, psychic powers. The trio begin to investigate the notes, with Jackson, an old friend of Matt's from New York, joining them. The mystery takes the four kids on a crazy, impossible journey that leads them to an ancient evolution, a bitter betrayal, and a big, fat war. When the entirety of Earth is threatened with something it doesn't even remember, how can four kids save it?
