Book One

Sori'a veil Areae Tarus marks the beginning days of spring and new abundance for the citizens of Glarun. For Freya, this year's celebrations mean anticipating a new life with Philip Bearing but the arrival of the king's high priest throws her future and home into disarray. With her father captured by the high priest and she exposed as one of the Nilmf, Freya must flee her home with the aid of a stranger whose alliance is questionable at best.

Chased by nightmarish creatures into the Darkling Wood and the Wastelands beyond, Freya can rely only on her strength to put one foot in front of the other to find her father and return home.
