Author's Note

Charles Xavier is in the grasp of depression. After his life came crashing down around him, he lived in the shadows, struggling to survive. Until Erik shows up at his door, the most dangerous person in his life is himself.

Erik has often played the role of the villain. After he inadvertantly places Charles' life in danger he is forced to play the hero in a deadly game of chess with Weapon X.
