Savvy Lopez is the only child. She is very beautiful and smart. But her life isn't so perfect. She attends a school that is very racist and her father abuses her. She is too afraid to tell her mother because she doesn't know what her father would do to her. But one day in class the teacher asks Savvy to tutor Darryl, the most popular basketball jock in school. What will happen between Savvy and Darryl? What will his girlfriend think? Will tutoring Darryl change Savvy's life and the racism that goes on at school?
