Jonathan's wish comes true to rule Edom side by side with Clary. His queen. The queen of Edom. Jonathan has not killed Jace because he knows what it would do to Clary.He wants Clary to love him. No, he needs her to love him.

Clary is slowly learning to love her brother but it is a hard process. She reminds herself loving him is better off hating him for the rest of eternity. Besides, with her not resisting him, he won't feel the need to kill any of her friends and family; no one will have to experience the whip. She's resigned to be his queen and stand by his side.
