Prologue -- Middle School Misery

Just a simple "hello" had changed him. He sometimes wondered what kind of person he would have become had he never met him. He was cheerful and flirty and even childish -- everything he wasn't. Yet, as if by some inevitable force, they seemed bound to be closer than he could imagine.
