It is said that true silence is golden. It may be, but it is a lonely companion.

One that is always there, yet constantly leaving you with your screeching thoughts.

A quiet like that is deafening. So loud you can't process it. She has lived side by side with silence her whole life, and she would have to continue to.

Because she was deaf.
