When Crystal Smith was just a child, tragedy tore her family apart and drove her mother into a period of depression. To dull the pain, Ellie Smith began drinking and eventually became an abusive alcoholic. Crystal was truly alone, with no siblings, friends, and deceased grandparents. While she was already an outcast in school due to her social anxiety, her appearance was peculiar; because of a gift. A gift that must be kept a secret from the world for her own safety. However, her secret is eventually exposed, and her life is drastically changed. At seventeen years old, Crystal Smith is kidnapped.
