What happens when Prince Charming turns out to not be so charming? He sees you in the crowd, acknowledges you even, but instead of going for your hand, he skips to your step-sister (We'll call her Anastasia), she isn't the prettiest girl there nor the nicest, so why had he skipped you? Both of you are shocked, but that never stopped Anastasia from taking his hand. They ended up dancing the night away, his hand on her waist and her hands on his shoulder. It should've been me she tells herself, at least that's how many people told the story. But that's not how it really happened, Anastasia and Prince Charming got married and eventually had kids.
