Description
"We shall draw from the heart of suffering itself the means of inspiration and survival." -Winston Churchill Excerpt from Never Meant to Last “I don’t need holding Imo,” he said jokingly. I nodded, “Of course you don’t babe of course you don’t.” This seemed to make him laugh even more as he rested his head on my shoulder and continued to cry. People loved to believe that Boy was a survivor, and in truth he was. But he wasn’t really surviving until he had something to survive for. He knew that if he died he didn’t want his mom to be the person to find him, to witness him taking his last breath. But with me, he knew that I needed him a lot more than anybody had ever needed him before, so as his doctor told me two years later; “He kept trying for you. He was ready but you weren’t and that was enough for him to hold on.” This is the story of how unconditional love, when put to the test, will always remain unconditional.
