Introduction

Ghoul: a carnivorous and cannibalistic species that kill and feed on humans.

As warnings reach the Miyagi Prefecture of Japan that ghouls have the potential to move away from cities and into the country, Kageyama Tobio has to reconsider his previous scepticism on the subject. He's always been aware of these rumours of monsters but has always been unsure of the validity of these claims.

That is, until he meets a ghoul himself.
Oh, yes, ghouls are real. And they are closer than we think, as Kageyama discovers.
