Description
These are draft transcriptions of the surviving records produced by the sheriffs and other royal officials in charge of the Templars' property in Berkshire, 1308-13. There is a series of enrolled accounts in the Exchequer Records, E 358/18-20, and a statement of debts owed to the Templars and property that had been entrusted to others for safekeeping at the end of 1307. The documents in the National Archives are covered by an Open Government Licence for public sector information, which allows everyone to copy, publish, distribute and transmit the documents in their archives: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/doc/open-government-licence/version/3/ .
