Sandelene is self-taught white witch struggling to make a living in Memphis, Tennessee. When a local historical library contacts her about hostile paranormal activity she figures, what the hell, I need rent money, and investigates.

Sandy divines the source and steals it back to her home to cast a spell to free the spirit, but winds up binding him to her instead. Problem is, she can't release him without knowing his true name, which he refuses to tell her until after he's had his revenge.
