Chapter 1: Is This a Joke?

Meet Mirabella Mason, she lives with her alcoholic and abusive father and she has never seemed to quite fit in. She gets accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and for once in her life she has hope. Hope of escaping her father's fists, and hope of finally belonging somewhere. But will Hogwarts offer her the sanctuary she's been hoping for? And will she find her place in whatever House she is sorted into?
