Prologue

A serial killer returns after twenty years of silence, and bodies begin to pile up quickly. Police Officer Blake Montgomery is given lead on the case, which would promote him to Detective if he catches the monster; that same one that escaped his father's grasp when he was on the force. After a fire he ends up partnered with Evelyn a young librarian, hired by the NYPD, with a knack for digging up information. Her cold exterior with a spicy temper, and his arrogant ego making them run in circles to get away from one another. Their different lives colliding, leaving a messy partnership in stopping a prolific killer before he can strike again.
