Chapter 1

Birdie Song's parents have just died, leaving her an orphan. She's sent to California to live with her uncle, but when she gets there, she discovers that her uncle is away on one of his famous "adventures", and he's left her in the hands of his "best friend's brother's sister-in-law's best friend's son". And on top of being all that, this "best friend's brother's sister-in-law's best friend's son" is as devilishly handsome as he is difficult.
