Prologue

Darcy Silver is a homicide detective working in New Orleans. Or she was.
A serial killer, self-labeled as "Messorem", makes her his latest victim. Darcy dies; but doesn't expect to be dug up and brought back to work as a Grim Reaper. And so, she has to go around reaping souls, 24/7 it seems (because people never stop dying), while trying to identify her killer in order to prevent his string of victims from multiplying. Sometimes, you just never get a break.
