. At Hartford Middle School, Janet Sparks didn't quite fit in. She's haunted by harsh dark voices and tortured due to her size plus her parents get divorced; not to mention that her father commits suicide. Could things get any worse? Janet became burdened by sadness for ages, too frightened to go to school and too scared to show herself, she always told herself that she would never have true friends or LOVE.

Soon Janet's life in the fat lane was completely gone, surprisingly she decides to come back to school as a different person with the hopes of finding a purpose in life. Knowing the high school world is filled with drama and chaos , Janet refuses to let anyone in, afraid of getting hurt again never lets her guard down
