Prologue: part 1

There once lived an old toymaker. He was called Candle Jack by the people of the nearby town, for he often worked late into the night by the light of a single candle. His wife had died giving birth to his son, who had mysteriously disappeared not long after. 13 years later, he still makes his toys, storing them in what would have been his son's room, but little does he know the truth about what happens there as the clock strikes midnight....
