[On Hold] Marriage and adventure had always been far from Anita's mind. That is until Barba Azul, a mysterious stranger with a frightening blue beard, arrives at her cottage home, seeking her or her sister Antonia's hand in marriage. After Barba Azul charms their father and brothers, Antonia is wed to him, and Anita accompanies her on the journey to his castle. At first the two sisters are entranced by his splendid castle and dazzling nightly balls, and Anita imagines her own happily ever after is just around the corner. But when Barba Azul is called away from the castle for a few weeks, leaving them with a golden key which unlocks a forbidden room, Anita and Antonia learn the truth about his dark past and soon find themselves in an adventure that could cost them not just their happy ever afters, but their lives. A re-imagining of the classic-but-gruesome Bluebeard fairy tale, told through the letters and diary of Anita, his young wife's sister.
