Yang's reputation went down the drain after one specific fight, the fight with Mercury Black. Before that fight even came into play, her life was going pretty well. Her sister, Ruby, doing well in school, had a good group of friends to hang out with, boxing, and boyfriend at the time. Right after the fight, he called it off, not believing her. Yang was about to give up everything she stood for, including her life. She had become depressed. She couldn't take it anymore. Yang was going to do something that would hurt many. Just as she was going to jump, a girl grabbed her and pinned her to ground. This girl was Blake and what Yang didn't know about her, besides her being a Faunus, is that she had admired the ex-boxer.
