One Direction is bigger and better than ever, though with all the die-hard fans, there's bound to be some die-hard haters. Bullies tend to target the weak, the sensitive, and this was no exception - the haters targeted the weak; they targeted Niall. Niall was the only one that was ever actually bothered by hate, and so, they sent it all his way. And it hurt. It hurt a lot, and slowly but surely, it broke him down. Nowadays, Niall's swerving down onto a path of self-loathing and self-destruction, though nobody would ever know. On stage and in front of people, Niall hasn't changed a bit. He's still the vibrant, cheerful, happy-go-lucky Irishman he used to be. But when he's alone, the true reality comes out. He's fallen into a void of blackness and depression, and has gotten into some dangerous habits - drinking, smoking, self-harm, and not only that, but he's also bulimic and suicidal. He hates himself, hates everything about himself, but nobody would ever know that. And to make matters worse, Niall has a stupid crush on his charming bandmate that he just can't seem to get rid of - Harry. How couldn't he have feelings for Harry? Harry's perfect. Not only does Niall have this crush on him, but he envies him. If he was as beautiful as Harry, both inside and out, then his life would be perfect. It had to be. When you were that perfect, how could anything in life possibly be wrong? But Niall tries his best to ignore it, since he doesn't need stupid feelings screwing up his life, too. He doesn't have time for feelings. He's swirling down into a dark void of hatred and depression and bitterness, he has to deal with the fact that he hates himself and the fact that he's too much of a goddamn coward to just end his life like he wants to; he doesn't need his stupid crush to make things even worse. But you can only ignore your feelings for so long, and when they turn into love...
