Give Me Love

I ran faster and faster, trying to escape. The woods had disappeared leaving me in a fog. I searched frantically; I knew I didn’t have long. I could feel them gaining on me with each second.
I needed to get away.
I needed to tell him.
All too soon I felt claws ripping at my human flesh and laughter filled the air. I fell on the cold hard ground; looking up I saw his triumphant, victorious smile.
He had won.
I had lost.
I closed my eyes and let the darkness take over me. In the distance I heard a howl of pain and sadness. I knew we’d be together soon, but not on Earth.
Finally I drifted off into the unknown.
