Her Lovely Scar

I uncover my mask to show him what hideous creature laid under it. I looked up at him, expecting him to run away in fear, to call me a monster and delete me from his life. Instead, his hand reached out and his fingers brushed against the bumpy flesh of my scar. His breath felt warm against my skin, as I just stood there. "The scar makes you who you are." he said. I looked deep into his eyes. "What am I?" I asked, my voice coming out a soft whisper. "The most beautiful girl, in my eyes." he said.
