"Don't! Don't say another word!" Charlotte says.

Angela was a difficult subject for Charlotte. After living without her mother since the age of nine,
Charlotte had learnt that discussing her mother just made her upset. It was someone else's fault that she had to grow up without a mother.

"Ms Lisbon, your principal, told me that if you need a female to talk to at all, then she's there for you," Jane admits softly, looking down.

He's still looking down as Charlotte climbs out of the car and runs inside.

As if it'd be that easy for her.
