Prologue

The crumbled buildings were nothing in comparison to him as the way his heart felt like it was large and beating, though slowly breaking along the veins that kept it beating with blood. The country's disgrace meant nothing to him, because he was already shamed by the world. He had no sense of pride, because the only pride he ever had in anything was being stripped away from him.
