Prologue

Let's just call it what it is, shall we? Erika Evans is dirt poor. Her alcoholic mother doesn't buy food, furniture for their dingy apartment, or really anything else that is necessary for living like a normal person. Erika's best friend, Lincoln, is pretty much apart of the richest family in town. There isn't a way for Erika to tell Lincoln without being completely embarrassed about her living condition, so she doesn't invite him over to her home or even hints at her life at home is like. The question is will Erika ever tell Lincoln about how horrible her life is at home and how neglected she is by her mother? Or will everything stay a secret until Lincoln becomes curious enough to find out the truth?
