Description
Fifty years after the Flush, the final event of a fifteen-year epidemic, Norie Flynn finds herself venturing close to the edge of her own world. With the reduced global population all living under one dome, she dreams of life in the world before the sanguinary chill-- before the unified government initiated the Flush, poisoning the environment outside of the dome and making it uninhabitable. When she meets Mr. Madigan, a survivor of the Flush, he introduces her to the world outside of her own: the people, places, and customs of the Quick society-- victims that had been given a supposed cure that went horribly wrong. The side effects were so extreme that everyone without the cure or the disease was relocated to the dome. With meeting this new society comes a type of danger that Norie has always dreamed of. But when the world inside the dome gets involved, she has to come to terms with the fact that her situation isn't just another book that she can finish and put away-- she's joined a battle for the right to live, and it won't end with just the turn of a page.
