Connie Beauchamp, leading consultant in her specialist field, cardiotherasics and now, clinical lead of the Emergency Department at Holby ED. Connie's daughter Grace has moved to America with her father, Sam but she refuses to let it defeat her.

'Have no emotions, show no weaknesses' the one thing she told herself day in day out, but will it ever be that easy?

She sets about making the changes needed in the department and she won't rest until everyone is either up to scratch or out. However it's not that simple, especially when things happen to people around her, some she cares about some she has no interest in.
