Prologue

Twin princesses Diana and Mari have always known that they would one day compete for the throne, but neither expected it would be so soon. When the king is found dead and the queen falls mortally ill, the royal family must do everything they can to protect themselves from those who would tear them apart.
One sister will choose to leave behind the life that has been laid out for her since birth, while the other will throw every ounce of her being into becoming the person she believes her kingdom needs her to be. Everything depends on who wears the crown, and who pulls her strings.
