Damian is a vampire. I am a human. How did we end up living together in the same home?

Well it all started with my family that died by someone who murdered them.
The murder was never found so the case just got left behind. A man named Damian took me away from my family after they died. He told me what time I should go to bed and when I should get up. It was odd but I did it. He told me not to go to school anymore and not to see anymore of my friends. When I turned 11 I knew I needed to find out what was going on in this place that I have been living in for the past 3 years.
