Prologue

Quinn Hurley-Cullen is not like the rest of her family. She's average, she's scrutinized, and she's not a vampire. Having been adopted into the family at the age of five after her mother's death, she's been brought up with love and affection while knowing her family's secret. As she enters her senior year with her older adopted siblings having already graduated, she becomes the target for the entire student body of Forks High.

Due to bad grades, Quinn joins a tutoring program to raise them, and her tutor brings new meaning to her life. Jacob Black's doing more than just helping her pass her classes now, he's helping her realize that things can get better, and that you only need to give it time.
